NEEDHAM WELCOME CENTER

This downtown church needed to transform an existing patio café area into a welcome center for Sunday morning guests to check-in kids, receive guest information, and any other services that the church needs to provide. We cleared the existing café area and started with the shell. We created a central location that also provides a private area for volunteers to store personal belongings and house electrical equipment. Signage was very important, and the textured wood walls add visual interest that attracts the attention of those who walk by. Lighting elements are customized above each area to designate the difference in service areas with information desks in front. The aesthetics coordinate with the surrounding industrial architecture of the existing buildings, and the new functions meet the needs of the church and the community it serves.
